Perfect Sticker Placement on Clear Mount Stamps

Do you hate applying stickers to your clear mount stamps?  There is a BETTER way (sorry Stampin' Up!) to apply perfect stickers EVERY TIME.  Follow these easy steps for perfect placement of stickers.

Step 1:  DO NOT remove stamp from package

Step 2:  Remove liner from back of stamp

Step 3:  Remove sticker from sheet but do not remove the liner that covers the adhesive.

Step 4:  Remove half of the liner

Step 5:  Place sticker on the foam backing of the stamp, only applying pressure to the part that DOES NOT have adhesive exposed.  Once in place, apply pressure to the rest of the sticker.

Step 6:  Remove remaining liner and apply pressure to adhere the rest of the sticker.

THERE YOU HAVE IT - SIX STEPS TO PERFECT PLACEMENT OF STICKERS!

Using Card Maps Series

On June 8 I will begin a new blog series titled "Using Card Maps".  On March 21, I posted the first in a long series of creating cards using card maps.

If you are having difficulty getting inspired, look for card maps and don't be afraid to experiment.  It is only paper (GASP).  I have a Pinterest Board called Card Maps, click HERE.

This is how I begin - I have a envelope filled with blank cardstock in an array of sizes.  I used inexpensive cardstock and each piece of paper has the measurement written on them.

I begin with a blank canvas - THE CARD BASE.  I pull out different sizes to see which fits best for the design.

I then begin to start layering using pieces from my envelope.

Changing it Up - May 2016 Paper Pumpkin

It wasn't my intent to precision cut around the die cut lettering.  I should have made it flagged on the right side, lesson learned. Can you even tell that there is beautiful patterned paper underneath the flower?  This card only took 90 minutes to create, the opening bid starts at $9.99!

Keeping it straight...Part II

You read my previous post HERE about keeping it straight.  Here is yet another illustration on "Keeping it Straight".

Keeping it Straight

Refer to early posting of pictures for the next 3 steps

Start by cutting around the outside of your die cut word.

Carefully remove the top white layer; leaving the die cut on the backing.  Also remove the spaces inside the letters.

Turn over and carefully pull the backing up, only allowing the backing to release from the die cut word.  Create a straight crease in the backing.

Use a ruler to create a straight line on card.
Use the ruler as a guide, press down on the ENTIRE exposed lettering.  Apply good pressure to allow lettering full contact with the paper.

Take the backing from the top and slowly pull and remove.  Hold down the bottom letters as your pull away.
And there you have it - a straight application

Keeping it straight....

... I am a "little" OCD and I tend to always; ok, I always like straight lines.  Even when it comes to creating cards.

I put myself to a challenge to find the BEST way to apply the "Happy" adhesive die cut that came in May, 2016 My Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Congratulations to every subscriber, this month's kit is AWESOME!  Don't miss out on next month's kit in the mail, EMAIL me!

Keeping it Straight

Start by cutting around the outside of your die cut word.

Carefully remove the top white layer; leaving the die cut on the backing.  Also remove the spaces inside the letters.

Tip:  Use a piercing tool and pull back the top white layer.

Turn over and carefully pull the backing up, only allowing the backing to release from the die cut word.  Create a straight crease in the backing.

Turn over and place on card.

Adjust to your satisfaction and press down on the ENTIRE exposed lettering.  Apply good pressure to allow lettering full contact with the paper.

Take the backing from the top and slowly pull and remove.  Hold down the bottom letters as your pull away.

And there you have it - a straight application
(Now if only I could take better pictures.)

This is another "This is why I blog" post

A comment from a blog follower; Sheila you made me smile. I do not earn money posting on my blog and I have never had a new customer purchase Stampin' Up! as a result of viewing my blog.  I just do it to inspire others.

Hello Beth, I love your card. I am partial to butterflies and was looking for a layout different than the standard rectangle for a thank you card I need to make. You always have something special for this newbie to case! And I thank you. Love your colour choice as well. I visit your blog every day, don't ever stop creating you are such an inspiration. Now I have to go make this card. Have a wonderful day. Sheila

Buttons, buttons, who has too many buttons?

I DO!

I purchased buttons thinking I would put them on cards.  I did a few, but mailing isn't easy and costs more than one stamp.

I searched on Pinterest and found an idea - voilà button flowers!

Now, what do I do with them?  Decorate a plain tissue holder into a work of art!

Sometimes it is complicated.....

....when you need to make three panels that are the same size and difference apart within a space such as a card layer.  I rack my brain and of course, cut incorrectly.  I saw a layout that I loved and now I have a headache!  Math wasn't my best subject.

I think the headache was worth it.....
