Criss Cross Fun Fold Card - Reimagined #2

How is it reimagined?

1. The traditional Criss Cross Card uses an entire sheet of cardstock, allowing you only to get one card from an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock
2. Uses less Designer Series Paper (pattern paper)
3. Uses less adhesive
4. Less postage because of less bulk

Introducing the Tower Card

A great friend of mine asked me if I had ever seen a Tower Card.  She included pictures of cards she created in her email and boom....off I went to my craft room.  Thank you Donna for the inspiration!

I decided to create a template which took me HOURS!  Link is provided below. There are several YouTube videos out there, just hop on over there and see for yourself. I added one important step that helped me fold the card in the correct manner. My first card wasn't folded correctly that is why I created an additional four score lines in the card base. I highly suggest you make a sample or two.

For pattern continuity begin with a piece that measures 3 7/8" x 3 7/8". You will have a sliver left over.

Starting from bottom cut the layers in this order.

1. Cut a piece measuring 5/8" x 3 7/8"
2. Cut a piece measuring 5/8" x 3 7/8"
• Cut 1" off each end, final result 5/8" x 1 7/8"
3. Cut a piece measures 1 1/8" x 3 7/8"
4. Cut a piece measuring 5/8" x 3 7/8"
• Cut 1" off each end, final result 5/8" x 1 7/8"
5. Cut a piece measuring 5/8" x 3 7/8"

A Little Secret - Stampin' Up! Color Combinations

I thought I would let you know my little secret on how I know what Stampin' Up! colors work well together.  It's a website called the Color Lab.  Check it out HERE.

I have retired cardstock that I don't have coordinating Designer Series Paper.  That is where Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper is fantastic.  Unfortunately that paper is also retired. I sponged ink on this cardstock, made especially for this technique.

Don't Be Afraid - Just Do It!

By challenging myself to use Card Maps/Layouts I have found that I'm not afraid to cut up my BEAUTIFUL Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper.   It's only paper - Just Do It!

Sometimes it is complicated.....

....when you need to make three panels that are the same size and difference apart within a space such as a card layer.  I rack my brain and of course, cut incorrectly.  I saw a layout that I loved and now I have a headache!  Math wasn't my best subject.
