Notepad of Money

I wanted to find a creative way of gifting money for a Christmas gift to our son.  I searched on Pinterest and found this idea.
Products used
  • Brand new $1 bills (50)
  • Notepad Compound (Amazon link)
  • Bind-it-All book measures 7" x 3"
  • Stampin' Up! Products
    • Holiday Lounge Designer Series Paper
    • Sahara Sand cardstock
    • Whisper White cardstock
    • Great Greetings and Holiday Keepsake Ornament stamp sets
    • Ruby Red ink
    • Corner Rounder, Ornament and Scallop Tag Topper hand punches
    • Basic Pearls
    • Silver Bakers Twine
    • Glue Dots
  • Miniature Tree Trimming wire

Helpful Hints
  1. I tried to get new five, ten and twenty dollar bills but my bank only carried ones.
  2. I found the best twenties I had and stuck them between the one dollar bills.  The glue didn't "grab" them so I removed the twenties. (sorry David)
  3. The less often you touch the bills, the better.
  4. Add a backing cardboard to the bottom of the stack of bills (6 1/8" x 2 5/8").  This is what you attach to the book.
  5. Use binder clips, place them close to the edge you are gluing.  I placed cardboard shims to protect the money from being damaged by the clips.
  6. Apply thin layers of glue, allowing to dry completely each layer.  I made approximately twelve layers of glue.
