New Year's Resolution - Matthew 22:39

Matthew 22:39 ...... Love your neighbor as yourself.

Please join me and make my New Year's Resolution's your New Year's Resolution.

Respect the lives of your neighbor and drive safer. Turn off your cell phone while driving.

  • Your cell phone call to Aunt Judy can wait. She will just have to understand that you are busy keeping an eye on the road and will call her back.

  • Your email can wait – unless you are God, it isn’t important enough to endanger the lives of your neighbor.

Think of your neighbor first, drive safer and turn off your cell phone while you are driving. And "peeking" to see who sent you an email or called is a distraction. NO cell phone usage, period.

How long will this resolution last? It should be a permanent commitment to God. You are NOT important enough to endanger the lives of those around you!

Please leave a comment if you are making this your New Year's Resolution.

I personally will make a post "if" I personally fail in my commitment to Love my Neighbor!

Mojo Monday - December 28, 2009

Want a challenge? - check out Mojo Monday

Santa gave me a new camera and photo box to capture better pictures of my cards. I had to return the photo box because the camera stand was missing. Once I get it a replacement and learn how to use various software programs, I hope my pictures look more professional.

I love the added dimensions to this card. I used three different embossing folders and the Stampin' Up! Big Bold Cupcake and Movers and Shapers Modern Label die. I also used Stampin' Up! Modern Label and Word Window punches. My color scheme was Stampin' Up! Night of Navy, Really Rust and So Saffron cardstock.

Christmas, a time of joy....

I had lunch today with a special friend and her mother. What an awesome relationship my friend has with her mother. I am blessed to have this special friend in my life and was honored to share a little Christmas with "Mom".

Christmas is a time of so much joy - celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is a time of sorrow - wishing you had just ONE more day with a loved one.

I am reminded of this poem I read a few years after my mother passed away. My mother had polio and was confined to a wheelchair most of her life. The true blessing today is that my mother is walking with Jesus today.

My First Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus this year.

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do
For I can't count the blessing or love he has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus this year.

I miss you Mom!

Mojo Monday Challenge - November 23, 2009

This Mojo Monday challenge was easy using Stampin' Up! products:
  • Christmas Jingle striped DSP
  • Textured cardstock in Real Red and Chocolate Chip
  • Old Olive cardstock
  • Stampin’ Up! Exclusive Die Movers & Shapers Curly Label
  • Hostess Stamp set - Christmas Punch
  • Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Real Red Stampin' Write markers
  • Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon
  • Eyelet border punch
The Stampin' Up! exclusive Movers & Shapers Curly Label die is FANTASTIC. All I had to do to create the card base was cut my 8 1/2" x 11" paper in half length wise and line it up on the die. The unique cutout has perforated marks shaped around the cutout piece.

Of course, I had to design the card first using Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio. You just have to get this program!
If you would like to learn how to make any of my cards posted on my blog, please contact me by email - click here.

Do you or Santa need help finding the perfect gift? Have Santa contact me. I will help with suggestions or Santa can purchase gift certificates from me (redeemable only through me).

I love comments; please leave one.

My First Mojo Monday Challenge

I have been checking this blog out for months now and finally decided that tonight I will meet the challenge.

Each Monday a new sketch is added to the blog; the challenge is to use the sketch to create your own "masterpiece".

I, of course, playing with the new Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio, first created my "masterpiece" on the computer and then went to my craft room and created the card with real cardstock.

I used all Stampin' Up! products with this card
  • Mellow Moss card base
  • Really Rust cardstock and DSP from the Patterns Pack III (available as a Level 1 Hostess Benefits)
  • Mellow Moss 1/4" grosgrain ribbon
  • Thoughts & Prayers stamp set
  • Large oval and scallop oval punch
  • Basic Black ink
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
This is my digital creation

Our grandbaby is growing too fast

Thanksgiving Treats

I love giving gifts to my guests around Thanksgiving.

I wanted to create a classy party favor. I created the flower using SU Scallop Circle punch. The flower actually takes nearly 30 minutes to create, but I did them while watching TV. I was inspired from by a YouTube Video.

I used the Stampin' Up! 2009 Sale-A-Bration stamp set Yummy.

I love SU DSP and find it hard to use...some papers are just too pretty to use. However, I think the oohs and aahs from the recipients will be worth it.

An endearing surprise

Bill surprised me with flowers - four large sunflowers. He said he knew I needed a lift. "I know you like sunflowers because of Grandma Casto"
