How to Use the Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper!!

I created a tutorial using this pattern sheet from Stampin' Up!'s Mixed Media Florals Designer Serieis Paper. I created 15 FIFTEEN cards/variations using 3" x 3" squares from this paper. Included in this tutorial is a unique card layout with step-by-step pictures.

This is more than just a tutorial using this DSP - you can take any piece of 12" x 12" paper and cut it up into 3" x 3" pieces , That is SIXTEEN pieces to use with my layouts, no guessing, no measuring, just relax and create!

I created this tutorial using basic cardmaking supplies. I did not use complicated dies. All you need are sentiment stamps as well as a flower, butterfly, dragonfly stamps and embellishments you commonly use.

How to make Faux dies for your new Stampin' Up! Cling Mount Stamp Sets

My Crafts By Beth Faux Die Tutorial UPDATE

You just purchased a new cling mount stamp set, if only you could create dies to fit those stamps. Well you can and I made it easy. I have added an update to the tutorial below. This update shows you how to create a complete die set for a new stamp set that has never been used and the sticker image labels have not been attached. My full tutorial including this AWESOME tip on making faux dies for an entire stamp set is available below. Now through Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025 my tutorial is only $19.99.

I created dies to use for every stamp in the Spotlight on Nature stamp set from Stampin' Up!

ORIGINAL TUTORIAL

My Crafts by Beth Faux Die Tutorial is NOW Available. Click HERE for more information!

I've had my Brother ScanNCut for six years, making a sentiment layer was tedious. I learned the basics from YouTube videos. While creating this card, I had a lightbulb moment...I discovered a way to make sentiment layer and a sentiment mat for all my photopolymer stamps. And improved that one step by showing how to create files for my cling mount stamps. It took me over three days to create files for all my stamps, it was totally worth it. Previously it would take me up to two hours to create one file for stamping just one sentiment. Now I can do it in under ten minutes.

I have created a tutorial on how to create stamping layers and the "shadow" layer for the sentiment. If you know the basics to using your Brother ScanNCut and the Brother CanvasWorkspace you will be able to master my tutorial in minutes. If you decide to purchase my tutorial, you must need to understand how to scan and cut out an image using your machine. There are YouTube videos showing the basic steps for the beginner. To use this tutorial, again, you must know the basic steps in using your Brother ScanNCut and the Brother CanvasWorkspace software. I have never seen a video that creates sentiment and mat layers as easy as mine.

Brother ScanNCut Card Files by Beth - FREE - FREE - FREE

Did you miss my FREE Brother ScanNCut Card File?

I AM BACK with a tutorial line of card layouts.

Do you have the Brother ScanNCut that you purchased to cut shapes and designs to create cards? I purchased my first BSNC maching in 2017 to save money on metal dies for cardmaking. I used it for cutting around stamped images instead of fussy cutting shapes. I then learned how to create layers for punches and my stamp images. Click HERE for information on creating your own faux dies.

I have not been able to spend the time I use to creating cards due to chronic back pain brought on by Failed Back Surgery Syndrome. Do you realize how much twisting you do in your craft studio? It begins by selecting cardstock and pattern paper from your massive inventory, selecting your stamp sets, pulling out ink pads, cardmaking dies, cranking out die cuts with your Big Shot, grabbing your sentiment punches, stamp, glue and finally finishing up with embellishments. Since I couldn't do all of this, I decided to make better use of my BSNC machine. I watched hundreds of  YouTube visits and connected the dots to create files for various card layouts and fun folds. I basically have an unpaid full-time job as a CanvasWorkspace Content Creator.

We all know about the high cost of dies, particularly from my favorite card supply company. One die for $37? I will be offering cut files to save you time and money, I cut the cardstock for you, no more measuring and cutting!

Craftroom Storage Solution - DIY 6” x 6” Magazine Holder Die for under $5.00

Where can you purchase a die for under $5.00?

Isn't that the reason you purchased a Brother ScanNCut? To save money on dies!

If you have a Brother ScanNCut (BSNC) and aren’t afraid to use it, it opens a whole new world of card making. You’ve seen my posts about my Crafts By Beth Faux Die Tutorial. With the high price of EVERYTHING, a purchase of a Brother ScanNCut machine is a wise investment.

I purchased my BSNC machine CM250 in 2019 and it sat on my table for a year. I taught myself how to use it following many YouTube videos, and yet it sat mostly unused for another few years. I now have time and I’m putting it to good use and creating faux dies without the cost of individual sets of dies, which cost over $35 each. I LOVE Stampin’ Up! products: stamps, ink, cardstock and their new Designer Series Paper. My affliate for BSNC

Maybe it’s time for you to make the investment. Watch a few videos on the basics and purchase my tutorial for less than the cost of one die set. You will have all the steps you need to create your own dies.

My first Brother ScanNCut file (fcm format) is now available…Designer Series 6” x 6” Magazine Holder.  No measuring, cutting…all you have to do is upload the file into your BSNC machine, place an 12” x 12” (or use two 8 1/2” x 11”) piece of cardstock on your mat and press cut . Scoring is easy, just apply glue and you’re set. For long lasting durability use a thicker piece of cardstock than DSP.

How to purchase only the Designer Series 6” x 6” Magazine Holder.  The file is available for $4.99, click the Buy Now button below. I AM NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE AN SVG FILE. You may be able to find a free converter online, try finding before you buy.

Helpful Tip

Is your card layer always moving around when you are trying to add another card layer? All you need is graph paper, laminating pouch, and repositionable mounting squares. I drew a rectangle that represents an A2 (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") card layer on both sides and laminated.

After laminating, I place mounting square on top to hold the cardstock down. You can also apply a mounting square to the back to hold it onto your work surface. Laminating machines are not terribly expensive: Amazon and Scotch brand. Currently Scotch brand has laminating pouches for a real bargain at $15.98 for 100 pouches.

I have seen so many YouTube videos showing how to think "out of the box" and use a laminator machine for your crafting.

There is 1/8" graph paper available, I have that as well.

Please consider using my Amazon Affiliate links for your purchases. It is a way for you to support my work. Thank you.

Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper - Showcase Fun Fold Card 2.0

I love to use the highlight the beautiful Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper as the focal point of a card. I created the Showcase Fun Fold Card Tutorial but wanted to step it up so that all the cut pieces of DSP follow the flow of the paper on each fold of a fun fold card. It took me over seven hours to design and try out to make sure my measurements were perfect. The problem I have is that my OCD carries into my crafting; this can be so frustrating. You can see examples of my Showcase Fun Fold Card HERE. This is my Showcase Fun Fold Card 2.0. I hope you like it.

Custom Make Your Own Stamp Dies - Crafts by Beth Faux Die Tutorial

Wouldn't you love having a die for every stamp set image?  Who wouldn't!

©Stampin’ Up!

I created a Faux Die for the butterfly from the Paper Pumpkin Delicate Wings stamp set and it was so easy. The "die cut" for the butterfly was cut using my Brother ScanNCut and their free software CanvasWorkspace. It is so easy with my tutorial. You can create files to use for all your stamps, each stamp image can be made into a faux die in less than five minutes.

There are so many YouTube videos that show how to stamp an image and draw an outline of it, closing in the "opened" lines and cut with your machine.  Sometimes you didn't get a perfect scanned image and you have to try again. Stamp ten butterflies and you have to outline and/or close the opened lines for EACH AND EVERY butterfly. With my tutorial, you can create a file, cut ten butterflies, stamp the "die cuts" and you are done!

With my Brother ScanNCut tutorial, why have a die where you stand over your die cutting machine, line up the image with the die and crank EACH AND EVERY butterfly. That takes a LONG TIME! And you have the battle of the die slipping over the stamped image as you are cranking it through and you have to stamp and die cut another butterfly. There goes one stamped image into the trash and your wasted time. Think of the money you'll save not purchasing dies! Most stamp sets only have three to four dies created for it, with my method you'll have a "die" for each stamp image. Keep in mind a die set may have a die that is unique, if that is the case, you may want to purchase the die set.

©Stampin’ Up!
Oh my gosh....you can make faux dies for every Paper Pumpkin stamp set and every stamp set you own! You'll be the envy of
every stamper!

This tutorial is FREE with a qualifying Stampin' Up! order from me. The tutorial is also available for purchase. More information can be found after the directions for this card.
