A Note of Thanks

I created this three-piece notecard set and Post-it-Note cover for a hostess gift.

Notecards -  Cutting and Preparation
  • Old Olive card base is cut at 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”  Please note:  you do not use a folded card base
  • Whisper White liner is cut at 5 1/4” x 4”
  • Old Olive scallop section is first cut at 4” x 1 5/8”, then punch one length using the Scallop Edge punch
  • Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper (DSP) is cut at 4” x 1”
  • Lavender Lace flowers are cut using the 5-Petal Flower punch and distressed using Orchid Opulence ink
  • Score each petal on the flowers using a bone folder (see picture)
  • Certainly Celery leaf section is cut using the 5-Petal Flower punch (cutting only three petals) and distressed with Old Olive ink
Assembly

  1. Adhere liner to card base
  2. Stamp message in Old Olive – I used A Note of Thanks from the Thank You Kindly stamp set
  3. Adhere DSP to scallop section
  4. Put together flower and leaf cut outs using a brad
  5. Poke a hole in the scalloped section where you wish to place the flower
  6. Apply adhesive (generously) to the back of scallop section
  7. Place brad through flower, leave and scallop section and open prongs
  8. Adhere scallop section to card

Post it Note Cover - Cutting and Preparation

  • Lavender Lace textured cardstock is cut at 8 1/2” x 3 1/16”
  • Old Olive is cut at 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”
  • DSP is cut at 2 3/4” x 3 3/4”
  • Lavender Lace flowers are cut using the 5-Petal Flower punch and distressed using Orchid Opulence ink
  • Score each petal on the flowers using a bone folder (see picture)
  • Old Olive leaf section is cut using the 5-Petal Flower punch (cutting only three petals) and distressed with Old Olive ink
Assembly
  1. Score cover at 3”, 3 3/8”, 6 3/8” and 6 3/4”
  2. Fold along score lines
  3. Place Sticky Strip to the back of the Post it Note
  4. Adhere Post it Notes to inside of cover
  5. Adhere DSP to 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” layer
  6. Put together flower and leaf cut outs using a brad
  7. Poke a hole through layers (step 4) where you wish to place the flower
  8. Apply adhesive (generously) to the back of layers
  9. Place 2 – 2” pieces of Sticky Strip near the hole for the brad for reinforcement
  10. Place brad through flower, leave and layers and open prongs
  11. Adhere layers to front of cover
  12. For the closure, place a Velcro self-adhesive dots inside covers
  13. Stamp message on first sheet of Post it Note – I used A Note of Thanks from the Thank You Kindly stamp set
